WHAT IS "MIND THE GAP" AND HOW DOES YOUR GIFT HELP?

MIND THE GAP (MTG) is Sage International's annual fundraising campaign where we invite our Sage Community to contribute their support to the excellent education we provide. Your donations help 'bridge the gap' between the state funding we receive and what it actually costs to operate our top-notch K-12 IB World School.

As an Idaho School of Choice, Sage is not part of any local school district and does not receive ANY funding from local tax dollars. As for state funding, did you know that Idaho is ranked the LAST in the nation for per-pupil spending? Our students deserve better. For the 2023-24 school year, we anticipate our "Gap" in funding to be $100,000, which is about $100 per student. We need your help to reach that goal!

EXACTLY WHERE DOES YOUR MTG SUPPORT GO?

Each year, based on the number of students Sage serves, the state of Idaho gives us funding for a certain number of teachers. Each year, we hire more teachers than the state funds in order to deliver our outstanding IB curriculum and keep class sizes small. We also have the best teachers and support staff around, and pay them above the amount the state provides because they deserve and earn every penny of it caring for and educating our (your) students!

HOW MUCH SHOULD I GIVE?

We are a diverse community with over 300 of our students' families (nearly 1/3) living near or below the poverty level, which only became more of a problem with the Covid-19 pandemic. We love that we truly represent our entire diverse community and are able to provide 'IB for ALL'. Our goal with mind the Gap is to include as many people in our community, so please give at a level that is meaningful to your family with our $100,000 goal in mind. We receive MTG donations anywhere from $10 to $5,000 - and EVERY gift makes a BIG difference and helps us reach our goal!

Remember, gifts to Sage are entitled to generous tax benefits. As a 501(c)(3) organization, gifts to Sage qualify for a 50% Idaho tax credit of up to $1,000 if filing jointly, and up to $500 if filing individually. You may also qualify for further deductions on both state and federal tax IN ADDITION to that, so be sure to check with your tax advisor! You can make a one-time gift or monthly recurring gifts that all add up to reaching our goal!

ALSO, check with your employer to see if they match donations, there are MANY generous companies in the area that match and can greatly multiply your gift! Other matching companies include Micron, Microsoft, State Farm, HP, Home Depot, GE, Weyerhaeuser, Key Bank, and many others. You can find search for your company on the charity navigator website.
